Here is the information about the application Rule.
Please take a little time to read through...
• If you are using an old version, read 'What's New?' written below.
• This folder contains following files:
1) About Rule (E) --- This document.
2) Rule.FAT --- Fat application.
3) About Rule (J) --- Japanese document.
• Rule is a tool to measure a size of an image on your screen.
It has a semi-transparent view and triangular shape.
Easy to use just like the one in the real world.
Several units of length are supported.
Many convenient features are also available.
• Rule requires Macintosh or PowerMac with System7.1 or greater.
It has been created by using Metrowerks PowerPlant.
• No virus was found in this package.

Usage:
• Just move the rule where you want to measure, you know.
If you want to hold the rule, select Hold command. It follows a hand (mouse).
If you have an inconsistent view, select a Refresh command to dissolve it.
• Using large screen, such as 21-inch display with more than 832 x 624 pixels^2,
the default application memory will not be enough. In this case, the tool
does not appear on the screen.
Quit the application, and increase the size of memory by information dialog in Finder.
• Arrow key or option + arrow key enables moving a position of the rule.

About Menu Commands:
• Apple Menu:
'About Rule...': info-dialog
• Menu 'Rule':
'Zoom In': increase a magnification
'Zoom Out': decrease a magnification

'Hold/Release': hold/release a magnifier
'Right Hand/Left Hand': change hand cursor
'Color Hand/B&W Hand': change a color of hand

'Show/Hide Number': number graduations or not

'Refresh': dissolve an inconsistent view

'Preferences...': change setting

'Quit': quit app
• Menu 'Orientation':
change a orientation of the rule

About Preferences Dialog:
• The width of the graduation 'notch' can be changed in the EditText 'Notch'.
The number must be >= 2 pixels.
A large number, greater than the size of the rule, is not accepted.
You can change a unit of length by PopupButton.
• Using EditText 'Width' and 'Height', the size of the rule is changed.
These numbers must be smaller than the size of screen.
• EditText 'Move By': // moving unit by arrow key
• EditText 'Boost': // multiplier for option + arrow key
